Al do you still have your strut springs for sale??
I FINALLY muscled off the front drivers strut and after cussin and swearing all evening at the fucking plastic "cup" around the to of te strut body, just behind the springs because it was binding with my spring compressors.... I finally got past that point, only to find that the nut on te top of my strut is completely crusted to the point where I can't get a socket on it and I can't make out any threads on the rod... I'm tempted to order new strut mounts and lower mounting ring thingy and throw these old piece of shit in the bush!! What a nightmare to fuck with. Knuckles are all busted up from wrench/sockets slipping, then socket get jammed on and I have to pull like hell on it only to smash my knuckles again

Are you talking my stock front springs? If so yeah have those.If you are talking lower springs they are all sold.
I said it was a bitch taking off and reinstalling the stock springs.. thats why would get it done at pro shop. You should have done backs first they are so easy its not funny and back springs are even easier.As for getting off old springs why not use hacksaw or maybe vice grips or torch you don't need to reuse the old stock shocks they are likely finished at high mileage anyway.

Do I just cut the whole strut tube between one of the spring loops?
Saving the upper rubber strut mount is a bonus but if I can't simply hack that tube apart, I don't know where to cut unless I can get my dremmel an use a cut off disk right at the bottom of the crusted nut.....? Were your stock springs progressive? How much? (to put me out of my missery)

Meant more getting that nut off with torch or vice grips. But guess you could cut rod also with cutting wheel, hacksaw.Just watch their is a lot of pressure in the springs. and pain to put on stock dustboot that goes over the rod. I messed up mine pretty bad.Not really sure you even need them with the kybs. My strange don't use them.
I think my fronts are progressive but should maybe keep them with backs just in case for down the road but then again likely the car is never going back to stock form. Some days think will be selling it when move out west and some days think may keep it and add vette to stable. I guess would sell them for 60 bucks shipped.

The KB's just have the same rod/nut combo at the top of the strut so they're going to need a mounting point which has the same two bolts pointing up and provisions for those fricken torq bolts.
The nut is completely crusted... I got a 15mm on there but is just slipped once I started to grunt on it. The threads on the rod are even worse as I can't make out any threads, just rust and crap even after trying to scrub them. I go whip out the dremmel in a few and hack as the nut to see if that does anything besides send the strut through the garage door.

Have you tried vice grips on the nut. Have you tried heating it with portable torch.
You can also buy these rounded bolt extractors think got them at canadian tire. Or you could cut the rod on the factory shock. You of course need to use the top pieces. I had to on my strange shocks as well.

I just struggled for another hour on them.
Ship those springs! 10210-91st grande priairie, AB paypaling now... If you have the lower spring perch I'll take that too... Anything to not deal with these things.

If ask about quick shipping, if it's not going to be like 40 bucks, do it and I'll make up the difference with you. I found strut mounts for 36 each Canadian and I'll get the next day shipping to have them here quickly. Otherwise I'd be ordering Tuesday (holiday Monday) an waiting till Friday or next Monday to get the parts. Car is down till this is fixed and with the truck down too, this leaves Tina with no vehicle.
